Accreditation

The UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School is an approved course sponsor by the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry. Our courses, which deal with the scientific or clinical practice of dentistry, professional responsibilities, or ethical obligations of the profession, fulfill Board requirements for dentists' license renewal. Credit hours are granted on an hour-for-hour basis, provided the course is completed as designed. In addition, UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School is an American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) recognized provider and an Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Approved National Sponsor for Fellowship/Mastership credit. The term of acceptance extends to 12/09. All of our courses meet the criteria for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that are granted on an hour-for-hour basis, provided the course is completed as designed. 

Note:  Dental educational institutions have an obligation to disseminate new knowledge related to dental practice. In so doing, some presentations may include controversial materials or commercial references. Sponsorship of a continuing dental education course by the UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School does not necessarily imply endorsement of a particular philosophy, procedure or product by this institution.

Tuition

Tuition includes the registration fee, handout materials, coffee breaks, lunch for most full-day programs, and other amenities involved in making this a pleasant learning experience. Residents and post-doctoral students must include a letter from their program director verifying their status in order to receive the resident rate.

Refunds

Unless otherwise specified, rRefunds, less a $35.00 registration fee, will be granted if cancellation notice is received at least two working days prior to the start of the program. Refunds cannot be given for "no shows" or cancellations received once the course has started. In the event the Dental School feels the necessity to cancel a program, the registrant will receive a full refund or credit towards another continuing education course.

Course Locations

Courses are held on and off the campus of the UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School. Please be sure to check the course description for the exact program location.The  New Jersey Dental School is located on the Newark campus and is easily accessible by Interstate Route 280, the Garden State Parkway, and the NJ Turnpike.  Newark Penn Station and Newark Liberty International Airport are minutes away. Secure, on-campus parking is available to all course participants. The confirmation letter sent to all pre-registrants contains travel and parking information for on and off-campus courses.

Confirmation Letters

Letters are sent to all pre-registrants approximately two weeks before the course date, with directions, parking information, room location, registration time, a receipt for tuition paid, and any other pertinent information. All registrations received at least 10 business days prior to the course date will be confirmed. You are encouraged to register early to ensure receipt of this confirmation letter.  If you apply less than 10 days prior to the course start date, please call the CCOE Registration department to confirm that a place is available and to find out about location and parking information. Program Cancellations and Updates

Information about emergency cancellations or changes in the program can by obtained by calling 973-972-7434.  Information will be available at least two hours prior to the start of a program. 

Note: UMDNJ reserves the right to modify the program content, program faculty, and program activities and reserves the right to cancel a program, if necessary.
