OVERVIEWtop

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, personcentered form of guiding to elicit and strengthen motivation for change. MI is a complex method, and it takes time before becoming highly skilled. This training will help you to learn from your patients in your real life practice. You will learn to recognize patient cues telling you if you are eliciting and strengthening motivation for change or if your clients are becoming more likely to sustain current, unhealthy behaviors.

The purpose of this activity is to enable participants to successfully utilize the concepts of motivational interviewing in order to promote lifestyle and behavior changes to empower their patients to chose a healthier lifestyle. Prerequisite: We require participants to have a basic understanding of MI. Advanced skills are unnecessary.
