OVERVIEWtop

Want to be better prepared for the Fixed, Removable, and Operative portions of the psychomotor testing that is required by most United States and Canadian dental schools as part of their admissions process?

This 40-hour course presents an extensive review of the Fixed, Removable and Operative psychomotor skills required for International Applicants as part of the admissions process at U.S. and Canadian dental schools. The course will include didactic and laboratory hands-on sessions with participants working with the Department of Restorative Dentistry faculty on preclinical exercises. Enrollment will be limited to forty foreign dental school graduates.

OBJECTIVEStop

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

Operative Dentistry (manikin exercises.)

  • Amalgam and composite preparations and restorations consistent with state dental licensing examinations and the Northeast Regional Board Examination.

Fixed Prosthodontics (manikin exercises.)

  • Perform a preparation and fabricate a temporary restoration on a posterior tooth for a porcelain fused to metal full crown.
  • Perform a preparation and fabricate a temporary restoration on an anterior tooth for a full ceramic crown.
  • Perform preparations and fabricate a temporary restoration for a 3 unit bridge.

Removable Prosthodontics.

  • Analyze and survey diagnostic models.

  • Design removable partial denture prostheses appropriate for various edentulous configurations.

TUITION: $5,000 (Enrollment is limited.)

REQUIREMENT:  Participants will be required to bring a laptop computer with them to class each day.

Tuition includes all supplies with the exception of text books. A list will be provided to you upon registering.
This course is not a prerequisite for, and does not guarantee admission into, any dental school program.

CANCELLATION

Refunds, less a $500.00 administrative fee, will be granted if cancellation notice is received at least two weeks prior to the start of a program. Refunds cannot be given for “no shows” or cancellations received once the course has started. In the event the Dental School feels the necessity to cancel a program, the registrant will receive a full refund or credit towards another continuing education course.

CONFIRMATION

Approximately two weeks before the course date, you will receive a confirmation letter that includes directions, parking information, room location, registration time, a receipt for tuition paid, etc. All registrations received at least 10 days prior to the course date will be confirmed. You are encouraged to register early to ensure receipt of this confirmation letter. If you do not receive confirmation within 7 days of the course, please call our registration staff at 973-972-4267 or 800-227-4852.
