OVERVIEWtop

The state of New Jersey remains number five in the United States for reported cases of HIV/AIDS. There has been increasing recognition of new treatment in the fight against HIV/AIDS disease. This conference will introduce clinicians to the latest treatment strategies for HIV/AIDS patients in areas of adolescents, medications, women issues and pain management.

TARGET AUDIENCEtop

This knowledge-based program is designed to enhance physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacist, social workers and other healthcare providers’ competence related to adolescents, virus replication, HIV in women, pain management and new advances in HIV care and treatment.

OBJECTIVES top

At the conference end, participants should be able to:

  1. Apply the latest trends in treatment strategies and diagnosis of HIV/AIDS disease
  2. Implement the latest updates in adolescent HIV treatment..
  3. Incorporate gender-specific strategies in the management of HIV disease in women..

PHARMACY
UMDNJ is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This course (ACPE #0374-0000-09-104-L02-P) qualifies for 4.75 contact hours (0.475 CEU) of continuing pharmacy education credit.

SOCIAL WORKERS:
This program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers Provider #886480934 for 4.75 continuing education contact hours.

GENERAL CEUs:
UMDNJ-Center for Continuing & Outreach Education certifies that this continuing education offering meets the criteria for up to .475 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), provided the activity is completed as designed.
